VOLUNTEERS–We love them.
Volunteers don’t necessarily have the time, but they have the heart, so they make the time.
Here at the Australian Bat Clinic we have been blessed with many volunteers and we honour each one because without them we could not possibly function at the level we enjoy now.
Hear at the Australian Bat Clinic we specialize in Bats, however we do the first response work on any native animal and from time, we house for the rehabilitation of Ducks, Geese etc. Each species has its needs and some like the Bats have regulations as to health issues i.e.: Rabies vaccinations are required before handling bats.
We have many and varied opportunities for volunteers to work directly with the animals however, some volunteers prefer to work in support roles of transportation, food preparation, cleaning and answering phones. We encourage and delight in allowing our volunteers to seek their own levels of commitment. Part of our mission is around the awareness that each visitor or volunteer brings to the wider community.
The Australian Bat Clinic also encourages researchers, work experience and students to utilize the facilities to further their growth and to that end, we have a range of discounted accommodation available.
